KAPA HAKA: Te rau pou manawa o kawakawa

On Sat 17 of Nov Te rau pou manawa o kawakawa performed at Kingston stadium, Whangarei and I participated in that Roopu I was proud to as well because  We placed 3rd in our Waiata-tira, Whakaeke, Poi and Whakawatea. We placed 2nd in Waiata-a-ringa and first equal with 4 other roopu in Kaitataki Wahine but we didn´t place in kaitataki tane. Overall we placed 3rd and made it through to nationals My favorite Item  was the whakaeke because that´s the only one that I put all my facials in it was really fun. What we need to work on is to project our voices and being consistent. Here Is some photo´s of Te rau pou manawa o kawakawa.

What I did in the holidays?

Title: My trip to Auckland.

Planning:

1. When I woke up at my nans.
2. when we headed to netball.
3. when we had fun.

Writing:

In the holidays Tahnellah, My mum and I headed to Auckland from Waiomio it had been a really long trip so Tahnellah & I had fallen asleep during the trip when we woke we had arrived at my nana Hineamarus house. When we arrived inside there was only one person inside his name is Takoha he had been a busy man planing for ki-o-rahi as I heard Takoha and my mum talking I also noticed that Takoha´s girlfriend or wife olive had walked inside with Tane her child. After them was my mum´s mate and her husband with their children as they walked in Tahnellah headed up stairs then so did I because we had been bored down stairs as I gave the squishy toy to Tahnellah I told her to throw it to someone that come´s past for a good laugh. As a adult came past we thought he was a child so I had said ¨Throw it" in a so quiet voice that she alone could hear it she almost threw the ball till she saw how tall he was then she stopped and then he pasted, after  that we started laughing but then we walked in to a room where the boys were playing fortnite season 6 I asked if I could play they said ¨NO¨ I was like ¨Fine then" so I watched well I was with Tahnellah I headed to the kitchen because I missed out on dinner. So well I walked inside the kitchen then what I saw was a surprise it was my favorite aunties and my cousin her name is Braedyn it was starting to turn darker than it already was so we all headed to bed.

¨aah¨ as we all yawned good morning as I saw outside, some dark looking clouds were blocking the heat from which keeps me warm but I know that the sun will force the clouds to go away at some time. My mum said to braedyn, Tahnellah, Money, Boy and me to ¨hurry up and get ready because we are heading over so my mates and I can play netball so Tahnellah, Braedyn and I walked into my mum´s car then the other two hopped in the other car my mum´s mates car as we shut the car doors so hardly we drove of to mum´s netball center when we arrived we thought it was boring so we stayed inside the car but in a while when we walked inside we followed Boy & Money upstairs so they can show us how fun it was. Then we discovered around it then got used to it then i walked to mum then asked her ¨can I borrow 10 dollars like in my dream that I had¨, after I said it she gave it to me then I headed to buy me a snack and a drink because the rest already had stuff from Tahnellah also she said she won´t give anything so that´s that. After that we discovered a photo booth so we took a few photos then Money had been upset because he asked if he could go next but someone else had claimed it.

After that Tahnellah, Braedyn & I ran on the courts outside then when we saw how much people were having fun we decided to have fun as well we first tried these types of goggles that have different visions so I tried them all but it was a two paired game so I VS an adult but she was too focused and I won. After that we walked over to the bike area to ride some bikes when we drove we started realizing that these boys were following us then when we stopped they kept circling us but the when I was riding this random boy that was following us was headed straight for me it´s like I couldn't move and he couldn't either so we crashed. I landed on my two feet but I damaged my knee for a little bit but he fell down then started crying I think he was looking for revenge when we both got back on our bikes but then we had a race and like always Tahnellah won then we left back home. Spelling rubric 5

Today I am choosing what my goal is for my writing and I chose spelling rubric 5 (I spell the majority of essential list words correctly  I spell some difficult words correctly using my knowledge of spelling patters and sounds)

Koura crayfish report

Title: Freshwater crayfish/ koura crayfish.

Opening statement: What I'm talking about is freshwater crayfish here's some facts that
I found out. The freshwater crayfish in NZ I'm talking about is also known as koura crayfish
they live in the North Island and south islands in Marlborough, Nelson and the West Coast
in the South Island but they are a little and slightly smaller (about 70 mm long) and
have less hairy pincers. They live in freshwater.

Appearance

Its appearance is close to lobsters even though lobsters are red but they are the closest to crayfish.
Also there are so many crayfish such as blue crayfish, red king crab, common yabby, acocil and
tons of others.

Diet

Their Diet is really easy they contain veggies so they don't really go for flesh so really their like pray
(pray are vegetarians in other words NOT predators-predators are flesh eating their diet is pray)
so they only eat veggies or sea grass (another word for grass in the sea).  

Behaviors

In this the crayfish would meet up somewhere and have a very aggressive fight the crayfish
would try to wrestle  their opponent down but it would sometimes lead to a high risk of injury
for the other crayfish that could possibly be involved in the fight.

Diagram: It starts with a egg then it starts growing then growing till the crayfish is a adult.
The life cycle is really in 6 stages and here's a diagram about it.

General Statement

They really look mysterious for a fact I never knew the full life cycle I actually didn't know anything about this creature for me a koura crayfish I´ve never seen.

So there you go there's the work about freshwater crayfish.

Explain writing

I am learning to write an explain piece of writing.

I know that an explain writing is when you explain about your topic.

I also know that a explain and a persuasive is a different piece of writing.

Persuasive writing is when you use evaluative language and your arguing about your topic.
A explain writing is when you use a passive voice.

There´s nothing more to add but proof.

O.R.E.O

This week my class and I have been writing a O.R.E.O piece of writing for example:

Sports is better than Kapa haka. I disagree because I believe that people could learn new kapa haka waiatas & hakas it'll be fantastic to find new waiata and share that with the world. Secondly if we didn't do Kapa haka how would we get to teach people from other countries so I strongly suggest that sport isn't better than kapa haka. Thirdly I believe that other schools can learn so much from new waitas that they haven't heard before and it'll be so nice for schools all over the world to cary on those waiatas so my suggestion is that sport isn't better than Kapa haka.

The easy part was writing this piece of work. The hard part was thinking  of what to write next. But I got through that and know my writing is complete.

Doing the chores

Here is a writing about the holidays. We have been writing about when we felt excited, happy, surprised and sad in week 1. Then we had to choose from three stories because I think we never did one of them. So I chose the felling that I felt sad and here it is.
Topic:Doing chores.

1. Washing dishes.
2. Vacuuming the kitchen.
3. Scraping the old food.

When I woke up I had to do the dishes after Sam, my niece & nephew and I finished our breakfast it was like a little to do it wasn't what I expected but I finished then I got to play on my phone for a little while the dishes were so exhausting they actually made me tired afterwards.

But then I had to vacuum up the kitchen it was so exhausting as well because my back started to hurt and I was tired too but after all that long time of vacuuming I managed to finish then play on Sam's iPad it was really fun to play on anyway.

Then I had to scrap all the old food from the BBQ dish with my hands it was disgusting to do it had all that GU and yuck on it I can’t really explained the yuckyness but it was disgusting. Ew I had to do it with my hands it was disgusting to do especially with my hands and after all that scraping I got to play on my phone again.

This is my whole story in the holidays. The easy part was adding new words because I was publishing this from my book to my Chromebook. The hard part was really nothing actually because I just had to copy my work that was on my book onto my Chromebook and add some other words on my writing. I could improve by putting more interesting words in.
